Initially, it was the home for Forgotten Friends, a non profit organization dedicated to the welfare of stray and abandoned animals. Many injured homeless animals who had no where to go, were brought here for medical attention and care before they could be placed in loving homes.

This function has continued, but as Dr. Bugreeff became more involved in genetics and reproduction it soon came to serve as a private clinic “to the stars of the dog show world.” Since dogs ovulate and whelp at odd hours of the day, it made only sense to have a facility available at all hours of the night. This is what the hospital specializes in now.

In addition to this we are involved in wildlife rehabilitation and student education. Thus, at any given moment, there may be a chicken in the bathroom, a squirrel or deer in a kennel and several high school kids trying to figure out an appropriate dose for a worming medication.
